Hi, I'm Caroline. Nice to Meet You!
I want you to know that you deserve to live the type of life that you want to lead. You deserve to express yourself in a way that lights you up. You deserve to go down a professional path that excites you daily. You deserve to wake up to a partner who you have incredible fun and sex with! You deserve to experience life in a way that makes you feel like you’re living.
When I was a kid, I had a lot of expectations on me. I grew up in a regular family with rules and ideals but I felt suppressed. I didn’t feel like I could express who I really was and what I really wanted without pushback. It wasn’t until I was in my 20s that I began forming my own voiA big expectation was to attend university. I attended a school close to home and hated it. I didn’t have the tools to help me declare where I wanted to go so I went where the expectation told me I could. It wasn’t until I graduated that I made what would be one of my biggest decisions to leading a more fulfilling life. I was accepted into a college program in Toronto and moved to the city. From then on, I experienced life more on my terms. I had a newfound freedom that introduced me to new friends, new opportunities that scared the shit out of me but that helped me grow as a person, and a variety of mistakes and wins that I think we all should go through (well, not my particular mistakes, but mistakes in general are important for self growth).
Along the way I promised myself that my life would be a fulfilling one. For me that meant no settling.
No settling for the wrong guy. No settling for meh jobs. No settling for difficult roommates. No settling for apartments or homes that I’ve outgrown.
We can do hard things. We can do the uncomfortable. In fact, we should! But we never have to settle.
As I began to experience life more on my terms, I gained new skills and developed new ideas that would then take me on to the next chapter and the next. From my 20s on, I never just accepted. I decided to live.
I want that for you too. Nothing is ever set in stone. You deserve a life of happiness, fulfillment, and purpose. And thankfully, those experiences you’ve had, the skills you’ve developed, and the ideas that keep coming to you are preparing you for each and every chapter you create!
I’m a firm believer that we are here to live a life of learning, growing, and exciting accomplishment. We are not here to fulfill someone else’s expectations.
Personal Nuggets About Me
I once wanted to become a social worker but, after getting my undergrad, did a 180 and entered into PR and communications instead!
That world introduced me to a slew of entrepreneurs who inspired me to become one myself. I stepped into my own business as a freelance writer in 2008 after mailing in my office key and resignation with little warning (long story I’ll share with you someday) and that placed me on the whirling path of self-discovery and learning the ins and outs of business!
I’ve gone from starting a blog to writing for big online resources like SavvyMom, Mom Resource Canadian Living, and more. And building a successful content marketing & social media management business called Flourish Marketing that included clients in the government, media, and corporate industries.
I’m a mom of two. I have two incredible boys who, besides their dad (my husband) are the most important people in my life. They keep me busy and my creativity in check. Lately, my oldest son, Ben, and I have been drawing! We have our separate sketch pads and will draw fun characters like Ironman and Spiderman (my specialties) and he’ll draw Minecraft Steve, Godzilla, and so much more. I love fostering creativity in my kids. It’s incredibly important to me.
I love reality TV. It’s my guilty pleasure. I love just sitting on the couch with a glass of wine and watching RHONY or RHOBH Or Million Dollar Listing. I love admiring their clothes and houses more than the drama. But I do kind of like the drama. Hey, I live in a house filled with boys, hockey, and LEGO. A girl’s gotta have some serious time to herself sometimes!
The only sport I’ve ever played was Ultimate Frisbee. And it was so much fun! I’m 5’10 and my “go-go-gadget arms” sure helped! I’d love to play another team sport at some point in the future. For now, my only team sport is going for walks with the neighbours or bike rides with my family. Hey, things change when you have small kids.
I have a not-so-quiet addiction to home decorating. Magazines, HGTV, and Chip & Joanna Gaines are my go-tos. I’m not an interior designer or decorator myself but I’m so inspired by those who are and who have that eye for transforming spaces into lovely homes.
There’s a snapshot of who I am. So, tell me about you! Want to see if we’d be a good fit?
